Additionally, several of his works were included in the Broad and Fine, Perfect and Beautiful 2nd National College Student Art Exhibition and showcased in the report exhibition of selected works from the Capital Normal University Academy of Fine Arts. These achievements have established him as a promising young talent in the field of artistic creation.
Fan Jiawei is currently focused on two major artistic series. The first centers on depictions of pairs of figures, with each painting featuring two individuals in various poses—either interacting or existing in solitude. Through these compositions, he explores the emotions, conflicts, and complexities of interpersonal relationships, reflecting the intricacies of modern social connections. The series adopts an abstract approach, inviting viewers to reflect on their own roles and emotions within the web of human interaction.
The second series uses small bricks, typically 6x24 cm or other sizes of ceramic tiles, as canvases to capture fleeting inspirations and emotions. Each tile represents an independent fragment of time and feeling. Fan employs a variety of materials, including oil paint, acrylic, tempera, and watercolor, to symbolize the diversity and depth of the inner world. These tiles can stand alone or be assembled into larger compositions, akin to the fragmented memories and experiences of life. Through this series, Fan seeks to evoke an appreciation for the passage of time and the beauty of overlooked moments, forging a connection with the world through fragmented yet deeply resonant artistic expressions.
