Artist Deng Yipei graduated from the Lacquer Painting Department of Fuzhou University and is proficient in various art forms, including oil painting, meticulous painting, watercolor, printmaking, and acrylics. Passionate about modern literature and music, Deng has had works selected for exhibitions such as the Anhui Province Small Lacquer Painting Exhibition, the First Fujian Province “Jiageng Cup” Thematic Painting Exhibition, and the Light Reappearance: Asian Art Exhibition.

"The lacquer painting Vanishing marks the first time I drew inspiration from the micro-landscape concept proposed by Mu Xin. I positioned the visual focus as the centerpiece of the scenery, with rough and profound textures extending outward to emphasize the visual theme. In terms of detail, I projected Mu Xin’s silhouette slightly to the right of the painting's center. The figure appears small and ethereal, as if gradually receding or returning to his rightful place amidst the ink-like, shifting imagery. This work references Mu Xin, but more accurately, it is an homage." —Artist's statement on the creation of the piece.
